Our family's interaction with Forest Lawn in West Seattle started some time ago. Our mother passed peacefully in May 2022; then time to make arrangements. Dad, also 92, tasked himself, with his four kids in support, in making those arrangements. Both Mom & Dad were more recent transplants to Washington - to be near their kids - and their kids - and their kids.
Firmly rooted in Catholic tradition and his own family history, but with empathetic responses from Forest Lawn and evolving doctrine, Dad selected cremation, and a spot with a great view at an outdoor rose garden and columbarium. Then Dad's time came in June 2024, and responsibility fell to us - their children. With Forest Lawn's continued dignified & empathetic counsel, we gathered the extended family, (a bit later in August 2025) shared stories and photos and placed letters to Dad & Mom. Most of all - enjoyed what our parents' had initiated: US.
Forest Lawn (Vy & Greg particularly) helped us achieve that peace in transition. Thank you.

Full transparency, I worked for this company for over fifteen years. However, not this specific location. I left the company a year ago. Okay so, having said that, the staff here have always been wonderful and the facility and cemetery are top notch. The staff here truly care about the families they serve. I mean that. Are the perfect? Is anyone perfect?... The answer is no, right? However, having been behind the scenes, they regularly go above and beyond at Forest Lawn for the families they serve. In my opinion, they do all of that because the ultimate compliment of seeing the families they serve get the closure they need, is far above the adulation of others or even more mundane incentives like wages. What I'm trying to say is, the staff at forest lawn care! Thanks for what you do! Highly recommended!

The level of care and attention I received from KC, Dolores and Lou was amazing. My support system is limited and I couldn't have done this w/o them. They are making my process much easier knowing I have a true team to lean on when I need it.

About 5 years ago my family and I used Forest Lawn for a loved one. We had a very positive experience. However, after just using them again I am very disappointed in the service. The funeral director, Marcelle Baldwin, was very rude and lacked compassion. When we told her that we would be making our own slideshow for the service she explained that they would be able to play it with no problems on the day of the service. The day of the service came and when we asked for help setting up the slideshow she exclaimed that it was not possible and offered little to no help. There was no problem solving. Additionally, she was aggressive in the way she talked. Referring to our loved one as "the casket" showed how much she did not care. For her, it was just a job and had no compassion for her clients.

The service provided by Marcelle and Vy was truly exceptional. Throughout the onboarding process, Vy offered clear and direct information, enabling us to customize our package seamlessly without feeling overwhelmed. Vy's unique approach stood out as she collaborated with our local monk, generously volunteering her time to assist in setting up the traditional prayer tables for the upcoming services. This extraordinary act of kindness not only demonstrated Vy's dedication but also provided immense comfort during what was undeniably a stressful time for us.During the service, both Vy and Marcelle's thoughtfulness shone through, making us feel genuinely cared for and allowing us to focus on being present with our family. Looking back on those challenging days, Vy and Marcelle were like a sturdy pillar of support, providing the strength we needed. I wholeheartedly recommend Vy and Marcelle for their outstanding services. Your compassionate assistance was a source of solace, and we are truly grateful.
