We are so grateful for Dr. Mel and his team at DCA. Our cat Arthur has struggled with severe atopic dermatitis due to allergies, and after multiple ER visits, procedures, and primary care vet appointments (all involving repeated steroid injections and antibiotics) we were worried about the impact on his long-term health. We decided to see a dermatologist, and we are so thankful we did.

From the moment we met Dr. Mel, he was incredibly kind, calm, and gentle with Arthur in a way that immediately put both us and our cat at ease. We’ve been bringing our two Frenchies to Dr. Mel and the DCA team for 6–7 years, and they’ve been incredible. Our first pup, Vinnie, struggled with constant skin issues — antibiotics from the vet only gave temporary relief, and it was heartbreaking. Dr. Mel was patient, thorough, and guided us through every option. In the end, the solution was diet. Once we switched to the rabbit RX diet and used the medicated shampoo they recommended, Vinnie’s skin and coat completely turned around.

There are no quick fixes, but with DCA’s expertise and support, both of our dogs are thriving. We’re so grateful for their care.

My visit was great. The office is clean, quiet, and calm. Bonus for free designated parking in the South Lake Union area. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. Dr. Mel took time to explain a lot of information using a whiteboard (see attached photo). It made it clear and easy to understand. I especially appreciated being able to see the inside of my dog’s ears on screen. I found the vet’s approach to treatment to be conservative to start. My only expense in his office today was for the exam. We are going to try a diet modification for 6-8 weeks to see if that will help and then proceed from there if needed.
