Ballard Emergency Physicians is an exceptional ER facility with attentive and responsive staff. From check-in to room assignment, the process is smooth and efficient. The facility offers a convenient unloading zone and wheelchairs for patient use. The team, including PAs like Vin Swift, provides thorough and considerate care, ensuring patients understand each step of their visit. However, it is important to note that the business is currently being sued by the state Attorney General for training office staff to avoid informing patients about available discounts on bills based on federal poverty level income. Despite this ongoing legal matter, patients continue to praise the high-quality care they receive at Ballard Emergency Physicians.
Shocked, but also sadly not shocked, to come here and see that all of these one-star reviews are for the exact same reason as mine. Ballard Emergency Physicians did not bill my insurance correctly. When I called them to report this (with my health insurance company on the line!) they told me to disregard the bill and they'd process it again within 3 months. Fast forward a few months and I get a letter from collections. I called BEP again telling them they never sent me a revised bill and they needed to reverse sending me to collections. They agreed and said they'd do so and confirm with a letter. Well guess what? I never got a letter and now have collections calling me...read full review
There are no words to articulate how poorly these doctors and their billing practices are conducted. If you can survive a few more minutes, find an alternate care center.

I left the above initial review out of frustration and anger and am updating it to reflect a more realistic response. After working on a billing issue for 8 months (an error on their end), I can honestly say this is the most inept organization. The local customer service is a joke and they contracted the billing to El Salvador. They seem to be nice enough people although poorly trained, poorly paid and not provided any tools to resolve issues. This place is the hospital...read full review
I'd rate Ballard Emergency Physicians lower than 1 star if possible.
I received a letter from collections in February 2025 for a hospital bill with a date of service in December 2021 (~3+ years later). To put salt on that wound, the bill was collecting interest without any notification of error.
Unless you love the rigamarole of untangling the billing errors between hospitals, physician groups, and collections, I would strongly advise that you explore literally any alternative to an emergency department staffed by this joke of a physician group. Their billing practices are atrocious at best.
