“Twelve weeks ago, I began Dr Doug's recommended course of treatment for a hyperextended bicep and the related shoulder pain from a minor fall, chronic back pain and stiffness with a limited range of hip rotation, and a stiff neck which also made it challenging to turn my head from side to side. Yes, it wasn't pretty! From first stepping in the front door, Julie, Dr. Doug's amazing assistant, made me feel totally at home. Not only is she friendly and professional, but she is also so on top of things. After only the second visit, she greeted me by name. She exhibits the rare gift of being able to multi-task while remaining very calm and collected. During my initial consult, it quickly became clear that Dr. Doug was genuinely invested in my care and intent on doing his best to help resolve my complaints. However, he was also realistic; which I respect and appreciated.Well, twelve weeks later, my shoulder pain is non-existent, back pain that I have been dealing with for the better part of 40-years, is 90% better, and my stiff neck, I'd say, 80% better! Subsequently, I can now twist better at the hips, and turn my head from side to side with greater ease (makes my wife happier when I'm driving!).Has it been an easy twelve weeks? No! Twice a week, I followed Dr. Doug's recommended PT plan, which involved approx. 45 minutes of stretching and strengthening exercises, received an adjustment from Dr. Doug, and saw Russ, the massage therapist, once a week. In addition, at least four days a week, I did stretching exercises at home.Was it worth it? Absolutely! I have had chronic back pain for years and Dr. Carlson adjustments help me staying moving with a lot less pain. She also does deep tissue massage with her adjustments and it feels so good!
