When I first went to Ashley for a haircut it was a last minute decision when my prior stylist had left the salon I routinely went to, and I just chose Hair Nation because it was nearby to my home. Little did I know I would be finding the only hair stylist to ever get my hair exactly how I wanted—-honestly even better than I imagined it! Even when I showed prior stylists numerous pictures of what I had in mind (and even once drew out what I was trying to emphasize what I wanted, which was a layered style that tapered to a V shape at the bottom) it always ended up looking very rounded and horizontal regardless. I was nervous about going to get my haircut with a new stylist but I just couldn’t afford to pay $90 for a haircut anymore. I called and spoke with Ashley the owner and got in to see her within a week! She did a fantastic job with my hair. She really listened to my concerns I had about my hair. Due to perimenopause and new medication I was taking , my hair was falling out a lot! She made me feel at ease about my decision to get several inches of my hair off. She layered it just right to get the volume I wanted without too many layers which I don’t typically like. Melinda did an amazing job with my pixie cut which was all out of shape from me trying to cut it myself. She's personable and very considerate, (she swept the hair from the floor before having me leave the chair so I wouldn't slip. She shampooed my hair after the cut to make sure I wouldn't have any little hairs falling on my clothes and car. She securely wrapped my wet hair in a towel to keep my shirt dry). I love the salon as well. I didn't just get a hair cut, I had a very nice experience being treated with appreciation as well as expertise.
