I've lived in the area 30 years, and Sheila is hands down, the best groomer around. She's pretty busy so, on a few occasions, I made the mistake of trying (3) other groomers in the P.T. area. I guess I've come to expect perfection, because the others fell far short of the job Sheila does, and they all charge more! Clearly, the others are amateurs compared to Sheila. Best of all, my dogs have always LOVED her! A couple of times, one of my dogs did have an issue with impacted anal glands, as a previous reviewer stated. Yes, it was uncomfortable for my dog but, hell... No one else ( I've tried) even bothers to do that! Sheila does a complete and professional grooming.

They took great care with our labradoddle. She is a 1.5 year old that we recently rescued and had not been groomed regularly. She is very nervous around the clippers and was not tolerating it on her head so they used the scissors instead. Our pup came out looking great and happy. Appreciate the time and effort they gave our pup and we will be back. Hoping we can desensitize her to the clippers being used on her head and face and the crew has an easier time trimming her.

I almost hate to leave this review as Sheila and her great crew are already booked pretty solid, but I have to give them credit for the best job done to date on my two beloved lhasa-poo dogs. For the past two years I have been grooming the boys myself to save the money. It's been a fun learning experience and I definitely saved a bunch of cash but I found that having a professional groom them, at least once in a while, has other benefits. For starters, Sheila noticed that one of my dogs has a fungus in his ear. I had thought it was gone so her noticing this helped me get him back on track. I'm avoiding steroids and expensive veterinarian fees and using things like oil of oregano and dietary changes (NO SUGARS) instead. It's been working but I was hesitant to pull the hair out of his ear. Sheila did this and noticed that the fungus is still there and needs more attention. She short clipped them, as asked, and did a great job around their faces. For some reason in the past groomers have not really paid good attention to their faces and it was so nice to really see their little eyes again. She also took care of their anal glands, again, something I'm not able to do on my own. I really appreciated the way Sheila took her time with my dogs, noticed more than just their visual appearance and went over and beyond what most groomers would do, even though she clearly has a full load. And last, my dogs were unstressed and comfortable with her. She's a good lady and runs a great shop. Highly recommended. Thank you Sheila!

Grooming job was fine, but she told me my dog's anal glands were almost impacted, and that my dog "REALLY didn't like it" when she had trouble expressing them. Reiterated that "she REALLY didn't like it" a couple times. I didn't think much of it until I saw what happened to my dog later. My normally extremely mellow, adaptable dog was pretty traumatized by her experience here, and she has never had any problem with other groomers. When I took her home she hung her head for a day or two and lacked her usual good humor - my neighbor even asked me what was wrong with her, because when I took her out for a walk she was obviously not her usual self. Also, she never seems to dream but for two or three nights after visiting here, she yelped in her sleep throughout the night, as if having bad dreams. I'm sure my dog has a terrible feeling about this place and I will have to take her elsewhere now. I wish the groomer had kept my dog's visit pleasant and suggested that I take the dog to the vet for her anal glands, which I would have been happy to do

Sheila and crew at Park Place are the BEST on the Peninsula for the simple reason that they love dogs! Friendly, caring, and gentle; we love taking our pooch here. Very affordable, too!
