Chelsea is very personable, good communicator and brilliant at interpreting vague descriptions. I did not have pictures or colors to work with but I got an amazing color and cut. The style was based on my low maintenance and busy life style. This is the best swoop bang long layer cut I’ve in years. The first person to take the texture and wave of my hair in consideration when cutting it. I appreciate she was transparent and humble enough to get an additional opinion about color formula. My blow out was amazing, silky and soft. I will be visiting her again. The salon’s atmosphere is very inviting and cozy. Loved the puzzle idea, especially when I was waiting for my hair process. They offer drinks and sacks as part of their service. Obviously it’s downtown Olympia, so it is street parking. The tip is included in the pricing which takes the guess work out for me. Overall a great experience.
I cannot say enough good things about Stardust Salon and my amazing hairstylist, Renée Hughes! This salon is everything I could want—queer-owned, inclusive, and truly a safe space for everyone. They offer gender-affirming cuts and even silent appointments. Plus, the salon itself is adorable, fun, and welcoming. Also, they don’t accept gratuity because their hairstylists are paid a living wage, which makes pricing straightforward and fair, and I always know what to expect. Before finding Renée, I tried several salons and stylists in Olympia, but now I won’t go anywhere else! I originally came in with somewhat curly hair that had been bleached for over six years, and she worked with me to gradually take my hair darker. Over time, my curls have become so much healthier, and she’s helped me truly understand and embrace my natural texture. She also cuts curly hair dry (as it should be!), and I finally have the perfect cut for me. Every six weeks, when I go in for a root touch-up, I look forward to my appointment because it’s such a great experience. Beyond her amazing hair skills, Renée is professional, personable, and genuinely invested in her clients. She has taken the time to build a relationship with me and my hair, which has made all the difference. I even booked my girlfriend a haircut with her, and Renée worked her magic again—taking her long, thick hair and giving her a cut that looks effortless, feels lighter, and suits her perfectly. I honestly cannot imagine a better salon or hairstylist to support, and I am so happy to have found a place where I feel confident, cared for, and excited about my hair. If you're looking for a salon that truly values its clients and its team, Stardust Salon is the one!
I am in love with Stardust Salon! Talk about a salon that feels like hanging out at the coolest spot in town with all of your best friends (oh and they are ridiculously talented, kind, HILARIOUS, and did I mention gorgeous). Thank you Jess and Emily for creating a community of acceptance, creativity, sisterhood and beauty! You all do the DOPEST hair ✨ And thank you Jessica for making me look and feel a whole lot cooler than I am. I love you 💕
