I’m a 35-year-old fair-skinned male with no prior experience in professional skincare. After having skin cancer removed from my face and neck (treated elsewhere), I decided it was time to be more proactive about my skin health.
Karin and her team were exceptional from the start—thoroughly understanding my medical history, listening to my goals, and recommending a clear, personalized treatment plan.
I had microneedling performed, and for anyone concerned about discomfort: don’t be. Karin’s technique is top-tier—comparable to a skilled tattoo artist in terms of precision and care. The entire experience was smooth, professional, and well-executed.
Post-treatment instructions were clear and easy to follow, and they set me up with a structured plan moving forward. I also appreciated how patient and informative the team was when answering my many beginner questions about skincare products—they gave practical, no-pressure recommendations that complemented their in-house treatments.
I walked in curious and walked out confident in both the process and the team. I’m already looking forward to trying IPL next.

Emma is amazing! She did a fantastic job with my brow tint and wax, as well as my lash extensions. I was a little nervous about the lash glue because I’ve had extensions in the past that irritated my eyes badly, but with Emma there was ZERO irritation whatsoever. She’s incredibly sweet, really listened to what I wanted, and totally gets my preference for a natural look as much as possible. I walked out absolutely loving my brows and lashes. I’m already excited for my next appointment, where I’m planning to go a little darker on the brows and a bit fuller on the lashes. If you’ve never tried professional brow or lash services (or if you’ve had bad experiences like I did with irritation), I highly recommend booking with Emma at Urban Beauty Bar in Edmonds. I cannot say enough good stuff about Urban Beauty Bar! I started getting lash extensions in June 2019 and have had my lashes continuously taken care of since - 4+ years! I’ve heard a lot about unhealthy lashes from outside sources and how I should not keep them in continuously. I can honestly say Karin talks about “how to keep your lashes healthy” and how this is a main priority for her to bestow upon her clients. Don’t be cheap with your lash extensions. Go where experience reigns and follow the instructions your artist gives you which includes LASH WASH. Buy it to ensure your investment of time and money are well spent. I’ve tried other soap/washes but, they were not perfectly ph balanced and my lash health/lash retention was poor. The owner is honest, fair and very talented. Definitely worth my time and money. I highly recommend UBB.

Urban Beauty Bar has made it easy for me to wake up looking fabulous! Karin has corrected the decade of over plucking my eyebrows which has restored youth and balance to my face. For my wedding I got eye lash extensions done by Paige which made me feel so beautiful for the big day. My makeup artist for the wedding commented that she has never seen eyelash extensions so well done in all her years doing makeup. I love supporting a local, woman owned business. Excited to check out some of their other services in the future.
