Their mold mitigation processes of soda blasting and then applying a mold & mildew coating guarantee years of a worry-free crawlspace. Crawl Pros quote was higher than the other company's, but you really do get what you pay for, and you can't put a price on peace of mind.
This last February, we found that while cleaning the moss off our roof that the underlying sheathing supporting our asphalt shingles was getting mushy. The roof was not leaking rain water, but the attic had been taking in water another way. Long sad story short, it ends up the venting from the heatstove (a lot like a pellet stove, except natural gas) which was direct vented through the wall to the outside was placed too close to the eaves and the wet exhaust had unknowingly to us been flowing through the round eaves vents into the attic.
