    My wife and I were scheduled to take a cruise out of Seattle leaving 8/15/2025 to Alaska. The evening before we were going to depart, her eye became red and runny. We thought she had pink eye and we would not be able to board the ship. I took her to an Urgent care and the ARNP referred us to Alderwood Vision Source. They were able to work her into the schedule at 11 AM. Dr. Jacob Gilbar looked at her and immediately knew it was not pink eye, it was an eye hemorrhage, told us not to worry and wrote us a letter verifying that she was not contagious and safe to travel.     I have been going to this practice for 35 years or so, when it was run by Dr Hyde and Dr Pfieffer. During this period, their practice was absolutely first rate. Both were terrific optometrists to interact with. Since the time they both retired, I feel that the practice has taken a slight downward trend.

    The optical department has bottomed out, with opticians that are unfriendly and don't seem well qualified in their field. If I could rate this department separately as one star, I would. The last two times I have gotten new glasses prescribed did not go well.

    My daughter and I had an excellent experience ..... Everyone was friendly and efficient From the front desk ladies, and the young lady that took time to help my daughter pick out her glasses. Doctor Brooks was very knowledgeable and informative. We will be back !!!
