Service Master was the company that my insurance originally wanted to use to salvage my goods but circumstances ended with me hiring them on my own w/o my insurance. Everyone who works here is really caring and tries their hardest to do the best job that they can do with the tools and resources they are given and in the environment that is provided for them to work in (not the greatest) I want to give a huge thank you first to Brandon and James who initially came out to pick up my stuff on such short notice w/o even being informed what they were going into on such a horribly hot day and in such horrid conditions (fire salvage). They made a terrible situation seem less scary and intense. Secondly I want to acknowledge that the circumstances surrounding my decision to try to salvage were not typical to what these Service Master employees were used to dealing thanks to my horrible insurance adjuster and a vey bad rental management company (since fired) they didn’t get in to salvage my stuff until 5 weeks after the fire…so for what it’s worth Mariah and Melinda did their very best in attempting to get everything clean. Brad was also extremely caring in how he packed everything back up to be returned and taking the time to deliver everything back to me afterwards. But I think it was Ladona and Mariah who I probably owe the biggest thanks to b/c they bore the brunt of all my phone calls my stress all
my questions my frustrations and especially my anger when the textile company flaked. They were both just patient understanding attentive respectful and more importantly helpful. The pricing was very fair in the end and all of these people went above and beyond. Even Josh was kind on the phone. However I didn’t give 5 stars because there were times when I felt these wonderful people didn’t have very strong leadership. It was hard to pin down time frames, get estimates for the job, and things that I had to manage myself because we weren’t going through my insurance company. and regardless if I am paying out pocket or your billing my insurance I felt the same courtesies and services should have been provided, but that is more to do with corporate policy management and how things are billed than any of the employees. I know that it was a very very busy time when I commissioned them and they did accommodate my request somewhat last minute even after my insurance decided to drop using them (and waited last minute to inform the rest of us). This is not an easy thing to go through and no one experiencing this usually ever has any clue what is happening what is the best way to handle it and what your rights are . You have the right to choose your own salvage company regardless of what your insurance company tells you. It’s also their job to advocate for you and set up the service not yours so don’t let your adjuster bully you or shirk their responsibilities. Advocate for yourself. Take your time making your choice but get your stuff cleaned as quickly as possible do not wait and don’t let anyone force you to wait you have rights which I didn’t know at the time. If you value people who are going to try to do the best they can and genuinely care about whether it’s worth your time energy or money then you can’t go wrong here. It’s not the fanciest facility or the most high tech but the people are hard working and they give fair value and are upfront about what they can and cannot do which means they’re not gonna rip you off doing work you don’t need done or work that can’t be done right.“
