I find the experience of going to Joy very restful. I have at times had good results and other times the effects were temporary. She was trained in China and has a different approach than western trained acupuncturists. I am hoping she can squeeze me in this morning!
I was in a car accident and required physical therapy to help with lower and upper back, neck and shoulder pain. In my 2nd physical therapy session, we discussed additional healing techniques... Joy of Acupuncture was recommended. In my 1st acupuncture session, there was a major improvement - flexibility, pain relief (sans drugs!) - I was able to put my coat on without crying! With Joy of Acupuncture to help reduce my pain, improving my flexibility and keeping me off medications that cloud my thinking, ability to drive and work - I fully expect a faster recovery time and to be able to returning to normal, physical functioning much more quickly. Thank you Joy of Acupuncture!
I made an appointment with Joy because I'm addicted to sugar. Sounds strange, I know. My friend who smoked for 45 years had treatment by Joy THREE TIMES, and she's never smoked since. At my first appointment with Joy, I told her my only complaint was my addiction to sugar. During the exam, she shook her head a few times and finally asked me "You have auto-immune?", before I could answer, she asked "You have chronic back pain?" I shook my head yes. I was completely caught off guard by her perceptiveness. I wasn't trying to be dishonest, I just had tunnel-vision about kicking sugar! Not only has she helped me with sugar cravings, but I've received more relief for my Lupus and Fibromyalgia chronic pain from Joy's treatment, than I have in 10 years seeing a bevy of highly regarded specialists. And sure, I had to wait about 20 minutes once for my appointment, but that was because she was helping a lady who could barely walk. She never turns anyone away. She is extremely knowledgeable and loves to share her wisdom with her patients. I've learned so many things from her that have literally changed how I live my life.
