About Cooke Canyon Hunt Club & Upland Dogs
Cooke Canyon Hunt Club is a highly recommended training and hunting destination for bird dogs. Customers are very satisfied with the training their dogs receive, noting that their dogs become well-behaved, obedient, and ready for hunting after attending the program. Trainers like Chris and Doug are appreciated for their responsible, patient, and informative approach. Many reviews highlight how dogs that initially had issues, such as retrieving or obedience, improve significantly, often returning as different, well-mannered dogs suited for field hunting. The club offers a positive experience for both puppies and adult dogs, with owners often returning for repeat visits. Visitors also enjoy the welcoming and friendly atmosphere, with owners providing updates during training. Bird hunting outings are successful, with pups successfully retrieving and birds on their first outings. Some owners board their dogs there when away for long periods. While most praise the training, a few mention specific challenges with certain breeds, like the need for additional force fetch training due to breed tendencies. Overall, Cooke Canyon Hunt Club is seen as a reliable place to train, board, and hunt with well-trained and happy dogs.
We took our Brittany back to Chris Heitcamp at Cooke Canyon yesterday for a tune up session. Baxter ran thru his paces like a pro and Chris patiently pointed out our tasks as dog followers.
Anyway, it was time well spent, Thanks Chris!
Took my English Springer there for training and am very happy with how he turned out. He ranges back and forth, retrives, and listens to my commands! Happy to leave a good review and would recommend.
We had a fantastic time with our two griffon pups! We came away with birds on our first outing! The owners were informative and welcoming. You can bet we will be going again soon! Thanks again.
