About Wayne Park Bothell

Wayne Park Bothell is a peaceful area featuring large round trees and open grass, making it ideal for walking dogs. Visitors appreciate the spacious trails that accommodate older or slower dogs, avoiding the congestion of paved paths. Although the park is supposed to be an on-leash dog area, many owners let their dogs roam free. Wayne Park used to be a golf course, providing a beautiful spot for dogs and their owners, especially on sunny days. However, summer can get really hot, and even with plenty of tree shade, long walks may not be the best choice in scorching weather. The park includes waste disposal facilities, though it lacks picnic tables and has some concerns about cleanliness. The playground has been described as a little dated but still functional. The toilets are currently closed, and while the park is not officially dog-friendly, many people still bring their dogs, provided they keep them leashed when others are around. Early mornings offer a serene atmosphere, and trails connect easily to Burke Gilman or Sammamish River, but visitors should be cautious of mud after rain.

Whale Scout has a purpose to enrich the public about the Southern Resident Killer Whales by encouraging land based observation and educating the importance of salmon recovery to help the Orcas survive. The Help'in Out Program in which Whale Scout started to support restoration of streams and creeks is a rewarding experience, know that a difference is being made. As a member of Whale Scout, I feel like I am contributing to the well fare of the Orcas. Please join and make a difference.
