About Opus Performing Arts
Opus Performing Arts is a welcoming and friendly dance school in Bellingham that caters to all ages and skill levels. The staff and instructors are positive, caring, and dedicated to helping students feel confident and comfortable. They create a fun, challenging environment that encourages growth without frustration. The school is known for including everyone and making students feel like family. Performances are enjoyable for both kids and parents. With a strong community presence, Opus offers a supportive space where students can improve their dance skills and develop outside of dance as well.
Very friendly staff. I'm an adult man who wanted to learn how to dance with 0 experience and they are really good at figuring out what someone is comfortable with and pushing them just outside of it so they learn. It keeps it fun but challenging without tipping into frustration. If you want to learn to dance this place is an amazing first step.
My daughter has danced here for years and we love it so much. They have truly become family. They are so inclusive and understanding of all dancers and work hard to help everyone feel confident and comfortable with themselves. The growth I have seen in her not only in dance skill, but outside of dance as well, has been huge.
I am 13 and have been dancing at opus for 3 years. There is no place I would rather be. So far I have taken Dianne's contemporary and jazz classes, Brooke and Celeste's ballet and pre-point classes, Susan's ballet and pilates classes, and Tatiana's tap class. All of them are wonderful. The teachers make sure to give each student careful corrections and prompts so that they can get the most out of every combination without being injured.
Also, they take great care and time developing basic skills and habits so that bad ones aren't formed, especially for students going on pointe.
