I am writing this to warn others about TurboTax’s recent billing practices. I discovered an unauthorized charge on my account for a service/subscription I did not explicitly agree to. Furthermore, their 'Free' filing is a total misnomer; by the time you reach the end, you are hit with 'Refund Processing Fees' and forced upgrades that cost nearly $240.

When I reached out to resolve the unauthorized charge, the customer service process was a nightmare of loops and automated bots. If you value your money and your time, use a more transparent service like FreeTaxUSA or Cash App Taxes. TurboTax has become more of a 'fee-trap' than a tax tool.
