“My waxing experience at Bush and Ivy was phenomenal! It was my first time being waxed and I was expecting pain and awkwardness but I can say now that neither of those fears came true! Christa easily kept up with my chit chat that I needed to stay distracted through the process, and I never felt awkward or uncomfortable while she was working. The experience was incredibly fast too, but skillfully detailed and thorough. Today, the day after my wax - I feel no discomfort whatsoever. If you have sensitive skin, let Christa know and she will prep your skin to help ease any irritation. Definitely will return in the future for more service. Sheri is amazing! It’s been over 10 years since I’ve had a Brazilian wax, but she made me feel completely at ease. Her technique was both efficient and surprisingly gentle. You can tell she really knows what she’s doing—quick, precise, and somehow made the whole process way less awkward than I expected. She even made me laugh a few times. She’s got herself a regular!“

“This studio is great. I have visited a few from Burien to Ballard and I think Waxing The City Ballard has been the best experience. Deborah does my eyebrows and she is the only person I will let touch them because she does such a fabulous job EVERY time, but for other services I have seen a few different people here and have not been disappointed once with the results.

In addition to doing a great job, they're just super friendly from the moment you enter to when you check out.

“I've been here a number of times, and they always do a great job. I have both scheduled ahead of time and called to see if they were free and they said come on in. They have three chairs for manicures and something like five for pedicures, there's music playing, but it's not overly loud, and there's also a TV in front of the manicure stations, which is on mute, but has closed captions on. The staff all seems quite skilled in various applications. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other places. Parking, depending on the day, can be a little tricky. It's street parking, but if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks, you'll find a spot no problem. Overall, I highly recommend this place! PS they always have small water bottles available, which they give out complimentary .“

“I had a haircut I hated (The previous stylist at a different shop cut it two days prior) technically there was nothing wrong with the cut, but it was completely opposite of everything that I had asked for.
Every time I looked in the mirror I felt really angry and I just kept saying I hated it. I hated it. I hated it. That is not how you should be looking in the mirror at yourself, lol.
So I called around and found this shop open on Sunday and made an early appointment. I was really concerned about the cost after having just spent a similar amount for something I hated, I was concerned about being heard this time.
Aimee did listen to me. Did hear me and I felt very comfortable and relaxed during her fixing this bad cut.

It's the biggest sigh of relief to have someone listen to you. I'm so glad I found this shop.

“I can't say enough about how amazing MJ is! I recently moved to Seattle and was trying to find a new hairstylist. The first salon I went to gave me really choppy uneven layers - you can see in my before picture that I had a really short layer that didn't fade evenly into the rest of my hair. Luckily I found MJ and she did an awesome job fixing it! I really appreciate how accommodating and caring she was. Before we met she asked me over email if I had any inspiration photos and based off of those she recommended a cut that would work with the length of hair I had. During the haircut appointment, she thoroughly explained what she envisioned and made sure I was OK with what she had in mind. She evened out all my layers and gave me a great short bob. I've always been scared of chopping my hair this short, but she really made me feel at ease and made sure to give me a cut that flattered my face. I recommend her to anyone! In terms of location, her studio is located in a studio unit on the 2nd story of a building on Ballard Ave. If it's your first time, she makes sure to wait outside for you so you don't get confused about the location. So sweet!“
