“First, it is important to know a few things. I haven't had a realistic piece in the 10+ years I have been getting tattooed. I met Ben Stanton (@benhawaii) when he first became a customer at a butcher shop I ran. I've always admired the realistic work he has done and collects himself. It is becoming more popular for those of us in the food industry to receive food related tattoos. There isn't anything wrong with them but I never took a liking. The tattoo Ben gave me is a reminder of the time I lived in New York City. Ironically, it happens to have a food element, an apple. Ben consulted with me through my ideas. There were items that wouldn't have worked for the placement or size of the piece. He guided me into what my options were and how he could still provide me with a piece that I love. In addition Ben took the extra steps to make sure I was comfortable (at least as one could be during a tattoo). I don't trust many tattoo artist but Ben is someone I will return to (in a month to be precise). Ben is obviously passionate about tattooing and professional in the service he offers.“
