Thank you so much to the team at Yahn & son for not only being compassionate during the initial viewing but every step of the way to we paid my cousin to rest. Thank you especially to DeAndre for preparing us for the viewing as well as helping us coordinate the times we could come. Especially because we know that you guys took amazing care of my cousin it gave our family immense comfort. Getting the opportunity to say goodbye was tough but it was a huge help from everyone there to help us. Thank you for placing a warm blanket on him each time we came to finish the last few arrangements. Your compassion for our loved ones is something we will always be grateful for.

I am a licensed funeral director in the state of WA. When my grandmother passed away in another state THIS is the funeral home i choose to assist. We had my grandmother sent to us from California to be buried with my grandfather at the National Cemetery. Take it from someone that knows... they are the best, they have the CLEANEST sheltering areas (something the public doesnt see) and they will treat you and your family with kindness and respect.

Updated: The transportation crew was a third party contractor and has since apologized and made adjustments to the way that they honour the wishes of the people we are caring for. There is a way to honor decedents and a way to follow health conscious and safe protocol. I appreciate James for thinking about the ways that changes could be made and reaching back out to have a conversation about it. Because of that I am adjusting and updating this review.
Original Review: Two transportation folks came to our door without calling with an ETA, walked in, didn’t say hello or introduce themselves. Not even a sorry for your loss. When I asked them if they had shoe covers, the woman acted like asked her to do something so out of line. I offered her and her husband disposable shoe covers and they scoffed. I let them know our decedent was shrouded, in a legal manner for WA law and we didn’t need the plastic bag or the quilt.
He said, I’ll come in a see the situation. When I agreed and said once more, the decedent was legally covered, he said enough with you people and said we’re sending another team.
The woman then scoffed again and accused us of telling her husband how to do his job. I said no mam, I’m just telling you what’s legal. This person can leave here in his shroud, once he’s in your care, you do as your company mandates. 0/10 I would never trust these two to care for a family experiencing a loss. So disappointing.

Incredibly disrespectful upon collection of our beloved. They tried to walk into our community home with not even a hello, not a condolence, not a regard for home (requested about shoes removal) and a refusal to have a conversation about process before abruptly leaving saying a different “crew” would be sent. I will not ever recommend their services- an absolute lack of compassion after loss. No family, friend or community member should have to encounter this service. Disgraceful.

The employees handled my dad with care and dignity. They were kind, courteous, and respectful. They had a special American flag wrap for him at the time of removal because he was a veteran. They explained everything well to my mom and I and weren't at all pushy. Exemplary job. I will definitely trust them with my family members' final care in the future and have already recommended their services. Robin was our funeral director, and she and Kate went above and beyond for us at a very difficult time.

When we initially called to start arrangement I spoke with Rhonda. She was so kind, patient, and caring. When we came in to make arrangements she was very patient as we worked through our grief. She took the times to say the right things to ease us through planning something so devastating to our hearts and souls. The day we came in for viewing Rob was kind and considerate. He was very patient with is all as we said good bye to our son.

This is an exemplary funeral home. The staff are exceptional and very accommodating. I appreciate sharing our family's stories and our journey to America with Rhonda, as she is a compassionate listener.
The owner occasionally assists with driving, and he is also an outstanding individual. I hold this establishment in high regard.
Our pastor, who officiates the service, is remarkable. He provided insightful commentary on the passing of our family members, including my sister and father. Witnessing our loved ones in the casket was an emotional experience, but it brought solace knowing their spirits have been lifted, and their souls are at peace. Consequently, they are no longer suffering, whereas we are coping with the loss.
I strongly recommend Yahn & Son to anyone requiring funeral services. They also provide caskets for purchase, if desired.

We were so impressed with Yahn and Sons. Within 2 hours after dad passed, a polite, respectful, professional married couple came to take dad. They draped him with the US Flag as dad was a vet. I can't remember their names (they live in Algona - maybe Jake and Tana? ). Later, when I picked up dad's ashes, Aaron Hauenstein handed them to me with a beautiful presentation (just Aaron and me) as dad was a vet. I asked if he'd do it again so I could record it to share with my family. He agreed, and did it again, with just as much respect and caring as the first time. The whole process with them was easy and each part of it was handled with so much professionalism and CARE. We were so impressed that we will now make appointment with Jane (got her name from Aaron) to make arrangements for us (husband and me). Dad passed over 2 months ago, but I wanted to write this review.
