“I had already put my new Mitsubishi Hyper mini-split ductless heat pump in place (in Bethel) and needed the refrigerant lines hooked up and system pumped down. I got ridiculous quotes for up to $650 for two men for 5 hours labor. Ben from Spectrum Energy did the job in 3 1/2 hours and didn't charge for travel time like every other place around.The job he did was outstanding! Mitsubishi have very stringent instructions for the installation including several cycles of vacuum pumping and breaking vacuum with nitrogen to get down to 500 microns. Ben went beyond that down under 100 microns. The next morning the temperature hit -8 and the heater was STILL putting out very warm air. Temperature inside has never dropped below 65 with even more colder weather.One last thing - he lets you know exactly what he's doing each step of the way. It was very informative. Not like so many others who like to pretend that their work is mysterious and magical to justify the extra hours. 2 men for 4-5 hours vs 1 man for 3 1/2 hours. No brainer.***Update***Six years later, and the heat pump is still working perfectly. This guy does great work!”

“Excellent experience overall.<br><br>We had a malfunctioning outlet that was affecting another outlet in the house. Plus we also had a broken switch and some concerns about a few breakers that seemed loose.<br><br>Scheduling was easy. Johnny came and checked everything out. He gave us a quote to replace the outlets with GFCI devices, which seemed reasonable. He also said our breakers were functioning properly, but that they were old and if some started to break down it would be cheaper in the long run to replace the entire panel. I asked what that would cost and he quoted us around $2,000, which again seemed reasonable.<br><br>We got a followup call and email asking if we wanted to schedule the work. They gave an official quote of $386.25 but the actual cost ended up being less (which was a pleasant surprise). They also give a discount for payment in checks, so altogether it was $325. I don't think we were charged for the preliminary visit, which as far as I know is not the case with other local companies like Lloyd. Maybe there is a charge and they drop it if you get the work done, but we were never informed of one so I'll assume there isn't.<br><br>The guys who did the actual work were friendly, respectful, worked quickly, and explained everything clearly. The woman who runs scheduling and billing called a number of times to confirm things throughout the process. I had asked about mailing a check but she actually came to pick it up herself, so that made things easy. I also like their system of sending you everything via email so that you have a record, can see the official quote and approve it ahead of time before scheduling, and also view your invoice.<br><br>So all in all, communication was excellent, they were reasonably priced, were pleasant and easy to work with. Will definitely go with Bolt again should we have future electrical issues.”

Hired them to wire a stand-by generator for my home that has already saved me since being installed - 122hrs with no power with the two December 2022 storms that rolled through New England.
