I love this vet and they would get 5 stars but over the years I’ve always had issues with one thing: the checking out process. They need to check you out in the exam room so you can then just leave. Every time I exit the exam room I have to wait 10 minutes in the lobby with all the other animals and customer who are also either waiting to check out or waiting for a room—which is fine—but then I go to pay and I’m trying to keep my dog calm, pull out my cash or card, sign, get medication, and discuss post treatment. The front desk women, while generally helpful, are also rude. When you come into the building, no one even says hello, they sit there and talk to each other about personal matters and make you stand there like a stick in the mud until they are done talking... then they acknowledge you. They give you the impression you are interrupting...But, once you get over that first impression, the rest of the staff are awesome!!
Dr. Fletcher at Shenandoah Animal Hospital is absolutely wonderful. She always takes such great care of my dogs, Hazel and Raya, and goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy, healthy, and well cared for. Her knowledge, compassion, and genuine love for animals are evident in every interaction.
She is kind, personable, and always takes the time to answer questions and make everyone feel comfortable. Hazel and Raya are always in great hands with her. Raya especially loves licking Cheez Whiz as a distraction during visits, and Dr. Fletcher does a great job making the experience as stress free as possible.
