They expertly alter wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and other garments, handling stains, holes, and buttons. Clothes are returned nicely hung, folded, or wrapped. The owner offers fair prices. This locally owned business is comprised of good people who do a great job.
Been coming for 6 years. Sarah has been working the Front Desk all that time, and she is the sweetest, nicest lady you will ever meet. The quality of their work is superb. I've had them alter wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and fix blouses with horrible stains, and have even had them add fabric to holes, buttons to clothes and pillowcases, etc. etc. New Town Cleaners appears to be a family business and they're just good people. They are next door to a friendly 7-11 in Occoquan, Virginia on Route 123 or Ox Road, where it changes names to Gordon Blvd. right over the Occoquan Bridge. if you don't live around Occoquan it's also worth the trip just to walk through Occoquan shops, or eat at the "Cock and Bowl" "Secret Garden" "Bottle Stop" or any of the others great places like "Mom's Apple Pie" which is now called "The Golden Plum" and run by 'Mom's' daughter. I can't speak to the prices anymore because I've been using them so long, and It's all I know. But they do a great job, and all the clothes come nicely hung, folded or wrapped on hangers with plastic bags.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Sarah the other day. I took some alterations to her. I based my decision on the positive reviews found on Yelp. I brought in a faux leather skirt and dress slacks to be hemmed. She did a good job measuring and explained a higher back of hem to a longer front: which allows me to wear a flat or a 2inch heel, which I'm at an age where I don't wear higher than 2inches. I'm confident the garments will be perfect and Ms Sarah even stated once I got them home and decided I wanted/needed the items shorter, she would do at no charge. I was shocked at the cost, however the garments weren't of normal fabrics and style. As stated the skirt is faux leather and pants are wide leg. And because of those factors is why I chose to take them to a professional. Even though the price maybe higher for some, I don't mind paying for quality workmanship.
Great service. Very nice clerk. Remembers you and their service is great. Brought in clothing for tailoring, and the seamstress did a wonderful job. I didn't know what I could do with the garment and they came up with a creative solution. Thank you.
