5 stars! This dental office is the best I’ve ever been to. I have been struggling for 4 years with issues related to bad dental work at a mother daughter dental office by Town Center and then Aspen Dental Suffolk, both places caused the need for 2 root canals and a bad infection up into my sinuses when I originally went in to the first place 2 weeks before my wedding for a chipped bonded tooth (1 of 4 broken teeth from 1993). That first dentist didn’t know bonding well and created a myriad of problems “refreshing” the bonding on all 4 teeth. They gave me a root canal on another of those 4 front teeth the week before my wedding. Then, last summer, another one of those bonded teeth broke biting into a sandwich. I went to emergency Aspen Dental and that dentist put me through the wringer and charged me thousands of dollars leaving me with only 3 of 4 teeth crowned and a really bad infection that I needed a root canal on the 4th of those front teeth! That is how I landed at Shore Smiles. I was looking online for the best rated dental office in Virginia Beach. I was also hoping for a Christian dentist. In my mind, that connection to God would help make everything go smoothly healing these issues that caused me to have anxiety about going to a dentist when I never had that before. I can’t say enough appreciation and great compliments about Dr. Mullin and the whole entire team at Shore Smiles. They have been so kind, supportive, chatty which helped me remain calm through all of this, and they are Christians, so, in combination with all the prayer warriors who helped me get through this feeling safe and protected, this dental staff added to that calm. Dr. Mullin was an absolute PRO at every step in the processes and very knowledgeable and super kind. He was also saying positive affirmations, which I do too, so that kept me calm as well. I’m coming back Monday for the permanent crown work to begin again (so I can FINALLY) get rid of this mismatched weirdly shaped temporary crown Aspen Dental Suffolk left me with)! I have confidence and faith that the procedure on Monday will also go well. He explained everything and the assistant that was in there with me has had 2 done, and she praised his work too, so I’m sure it will go well. The hard part is over. The rest is to get my smile back so I feel good about smiling again, which I haven’t since before my wedding in August-September 2021. It is July 2025. Over these years, I have learned that having a dentist you can trust is a really big deal. I’m so grateful to Shore Smiles and Dr. Mullin that I have found a dentist I can trust with my smile. <3 Thank you all so very much. ~ Kristen P.
