Academy of Rock Music is Hampton Roads' premier performance program for musicians of all ages. With over 16 years of experience and 750 students taught, the academy offers a year-round program that places drummers, guitarists, bassists, keyboardists, and vocalists into full-fledged bands that perform at local venues. Each band meets once a week for a two-hour session and consists of 6-8 members. The academy also offers one-on-one private lessons on various instruments. Students and parents alike praise the academy's welcoming and fun environment, talented and patient instructors, and professional gigs at cool venues. The program helps musicians grow as individuals and as band mates, pushing them out of their comfort zones and providing great value for the cost. With its unique approach, Academy of Rock Music offers a chance to become a rock star and perform in front of hundreds of fans.
Ron leads a great team of musicians that have provided me and my son with training on multiple instruments and voice training. Also the place to go if you want to get hooked up with other musicians young or older to play in a band as this is another service offered. Highly recommend... Great people and great musical family!
Our 3 kids absolutely love AoRM and their instructor Nick! He is professional, knowledgeable and patient with the kids. Our daughter (and soon our son) also participate in the bands. They have learned so much and have a blast! Totally wish I had this when I was a kid- what a great experience!
Nick Weber with the AoRM has been able to connect and motivate our son, who had just turned 7 yrs old when he started taking lessons, in a way we could have never anticipated. Our son loves going to his lessons and can't wait for the next one to come around. We could not be any happier with the AoRM and Nick, and are very much looking forward to starting the performance program this summer.
