About Floyd Ward School of Dance
Floyd Ward School of Dance, a Roanoke Valley institution since 1928, offers a variety of dance classes for children aged 3-18, including ballet and hip-hop. Founded by Floyd Ward and now led by Artistic Director Jill Graybill, the school has locations in Vinton and Botetourt. The school is known for nurturing talent through the Floyd Ward Dance Ensembles, which participate in competitions along the east coast. Instructors stay current with industry developments through conventions. Their Angels from Heaven program, a non-profit, empowers special needs children in dance through donations. Parents appreciate the school's protection, care, and instruction of their children. The school not only teaches dance but also helps children develop life skills. My daughter started at Floyd Ward in August and we have been very pleased with the amount of individualized instruction and how much progress she has made in such a short time compared to previously being in gymnastics for over a year.
We have been with FW for 13 years and couldn’t be happier. The way they protect and care for our children does a mommas heart good. The teachers not only teach and educate dancers in the various styles of dance but also life skills. It’s truly a family organization helping to mold beautiful young boys and girls into amazing dancers and adults. Grateful for their rules, structure, and hearts!
We have been involved with Floyd Ward School of Dance for over 15 years. Our three girls and our son with Down Syndrome have all danced there and we have all loved every second! The teachers and staff there have taught them not only how to dance but helped us raise them in a positive way. We have always said it takes a village to raise our children and knew that would involve our family and our church. As our kids began taking dance lessons at Floyd Ward we quickly learned we had yet another family we could count on to help! Thank you Floyd Ward!
