From Potomac Home Inspections
Our inspection process is very thorough. We generally spend approximately 3 hours for homes that are 2,500 square feet or less. We encourage you to accompany the inspector as they go through the home during the inspection. By accompanying the inspector during the inspection, you will gain a better, more thorough understanding of the systems in operation in the home, as well as gain a clear understanding any deficiencies they may find. All inspections follow the Standards of Practice set forth by the American Society of Home Inspectors. A clean, easy to read digital PDF report will be emailed to my client within 24 hours of inspection completion. In fact, we strive to have it emailed by the close of business the very same day the inspection
Jarrett, owner of Potomac Home Inspections came to me as a referral of another inspector. He may be good, however I have found him less than reliable or honest. I am building a $1.5mm house, so very interested in having a qualified home inspector. After having Jarrett confirm a date and time - his date and time - he notified my realtor at the very last moment that he was now "busy" and would instead send someone else out. He said he usually attends with this guy (sounded like an apprentice), but could not make it. Honestly, when I schedule time with someone I expect them to make it. If not, I don't expect them to send an apprentice but call immediately to seek remedy....read full review
If not, I don't expect them to send an apprentice but call immediately to seek remedy. So, if you intend to use Potomac Home Inspections, just know that there may be a risk of fulfillment. Further, I now question their quality of performance. I have decided to go with someone else.
We used Potomac Home Inspections for buying our first single family home. They proved to exceed our expectation for a home inspection. Jarrett was prompt (arriving early to accomplish some of the outside duties before we even arrived), informative (gave us tons of insight of how our new home appliances would work), and took the time to explain best practices so that we maximize the most out of our new home as possible. There were a few items in the new house that we weren't familiar with so we were pleasantly surprised when Jarrett gave us information to help us for the future. Later on, when we received the report, it was fully detailed with all the information he had discussed and more. We would recommend Potomac Home Inspection to anyone looking for an inspector.
