About Visual Arts Center of Richmond
The Visual Arts Center of Richmond (VisArts), established in 1963, is a place where adults and children can explore their creativity through various art forms. With approximately 45,000 people reached annually, VisArts offers a wide range of classes, exhibitions, community outreach programs, camps, workshops, and special events. Originally located in Church Hill, the center moved to its current location at 1812 West Main Street in 1996, where it operated for 17 years before purchasing and renovating the building in 2007. The facility now offers a spacious 30,000-square-foot arts center, including the True F. Luck Gallery. One satisfied visitor took part in the Second Friday program, attending Letterpress and Wheel Throwing classes, praising instructors Natalie and Dan. Another individual appreciates the after-school program, emphasizing the valuable mentoring and art experiences provided.
the classes are incredible, the staff wonderful, and it is an amazing and supportive environment that fosters creativity and respects diversity.
Had an amazing time in intro to ceramics with teacher Karen Hull. The environment of the class was informative and productive. A very fun and positive experience. Well worth the time and money spent.
