Taou is such a wonderful studio! It is hard to put into words how much it means to me to be a part of this community. I am in my 60s, so sometimes I feel intimidated to go to yoga (in other studios) with youngsters who are much more limber than I, but the teachers are so helpful in giving tips about how to modify poses. There are also many props there to help you, and you are encouraged to use them.
Also, there are so many different types of classes. I go to various kinds of yoga classes throughout the week, and I also attend mat Pilates classes. I've taken barre classes, which are great.
The original studio is in Carytown, and Taou just opened another studio on Forest Hill. Both are clean, full of light, and joyous.
Tried out their Intro to Bellydance Pop-up and it was a lot of fun! The instructor, Andrea, was really nice and even had belts for us. The sliding scale cost saved my student wallet, I would reccomend it to everyone!
Visiting from out of town and had a wonderful Yang Ex class with Nina! She has a great flow and a very calming presence. The studio is beautiful, sun-drenched and filled with plants. Emma at the front desk was friendly and explained everything to us thoroughly and made us feel so welcome. I love the opt-in approach to hands-on assists. Having mats and blocks available to use was so handy as a traveler, and what a nice touch to offer hair ties. There’s a palpable sense of community and everyone was incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend!
