1708 consistently presents thought-provoking contemporary work in a space that invites you in. There isn’t another gallery like it in Richmond. 1708 isn’t for-profit and it isn’t a university space: it is a place for provocation and engagement with contemporary art. It’s also welcoming, warm, and inviting, a place where you feel safe to explore and question art. 1708 is an anchor in Richmond’s art community.
