Played here today with my son as dropping him off for his sophomore year.
Overall the course was a challenge playing from the Maroon and Orange combo (6700 yards) for me as a 9 hc and my son as a 3. The fairways are narrower than most Dye courses but most holes, aside from a few allow for misses left and right. The greens are classic Dye with table top positions requiring hitting the middle of greens rather than going for pins. Any misses left, right or long are almost always rewarded with very challenging chips or flop shots from very tight lies.
My only knock on the course would be a mixed bag on tee boxes...some being pristine, others being a bit lopsided...read full review
A must play when you're along the I-81 corridor.
It's a little more difficult than necessary to find a decent course in this area as Golf Now Tee Times are mostly the same local courses that usually only pass for an emergency 9 after playing the 'nicer' course in the AM.
The only issue I can say are the basic golf carts given the grandeur of a Pete Dye course (yes, a redesign) and the views along the valley and river.
