Salon 249 is a great local shop that is clean and well managed. The stylists are all nice and provide great services. Dana is a great hair stylist and an honest business woman who offers good honest advice. She listened intensely to client needs and went out of her way to make people feel beautiful again. The salon handled families with patience and care, including a child with autism who has thick, curly hair. They also helped a client dealing with hair loss and thinning due to medical issues, making them feel completely welcomed and comfortable. The salon squeezed in a family of four for cuts and styling. Dana worked people into the schedule and gave the best cuts clients have had in ages. She is a valued member of the community who gives so much back. Clients have found a forever home at Salon 249 and will be happily returning.
Oh my gosh! Dana was amazing 🤩! Not only did she work me into the schedule, she gave me the best cut I have had in ages. Love this salon and the owner! I will be happily returning.
We are absolutely over the moon with Salon 249! This local business truly impressed our entire family.
They were able to squeeze in our family of four—one buzz cut, one women’s cut and style (past shoulder length), and two kids (ages 9 and 12) for shampoo, cuts, and styling. Our 9-year-old is autistic with thick, curly hair, and has a hard time sitting still . They handled everything with such patience and care.
Most people might say that’s just great customer service—but they went far beyond that.

Dana is such a blessing to New Kent County!! She will certainly give you whatever you want, but she will also offer good honest advice if asked. Went in expecting to get (an ill-advised) color, but rather than just taking my money, we discussed other options, I left still with my money and still happy with a new cut!! An honest business woman - so rewarding!!!
