I had an amazing experience at Portsmouth Tidewater Eye Center. I am 80 and had concerns about laser surgery because of my tremors. Dr Newsome and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything about the particular condition I was having and the laser surgery to correct it. I was seen on time and my case was thoroughly handled in a timely manner. I highly recommend
The staff was very kind and welcoming throughout my experience. However, I would strongly recommend that patients familiarize themselves with their insurance coverage and benefits in advance. My father was prescribed several medications that were extremely expensive, and it took over a week to identify more affordable alternatives and available assistance programs—options that I ultimately had to inquire about on my own.

I saw Dr. Rappaport, and he was very kind throughout my visit. I’m especially thankful to Sammy, who assisted with my exams. Since English is not my first language, I was quite nervous, but Sammy was very kind and patient, which made me feel much more at ease. All the staff were also very friendly. Thank you.
