We hired Amanda last minute for a newborn photo shoot with our 11-day old baby and were delighted she could fit us in. Completely agree with other reviewers who called her a baby whisperer - as first time parents, we barely knew what we were doing with our new tiny human, and Amanda was so gentle with our daughter in getting her into the different wraps and poses. I was amazed at how easily she could soothe her back down. I also had very little vision for what I wanted, in my sleep-deprived state, and Amanda just rolled with it and helped try to translate whatever was in my brain to beautiful photos that we will treasure forever. Definitely recommend!

Amanda has done headshots for myself, my teams, friends and co-workers. There is a big difference in pictures taken with cell phones, and portraits done by a professional photographers.They each have their place and purpose; but when it comes to my career/professional photos, I will continue to ask Amanda to do them!

Amanda did our cake smash/bath tub photos for our sons 1 year pictures! Our son absolutely loved her, and she had lots of tricks to help keep him happy and smiling. The set was beyond perfect and completely in tune with what we wanted. We will definitely continue to use her for photos in the future!

I cannot speak highly enough about Amanda's professionalism and passion for this work. Like any new mom, I was so excited to have a Cake Smash session for my little one!! But I also wanted to use it as an opportunity to make a few memories with mom and dad before the icing started flying! From our first call to our last interaction Amanda always provided accurate information about her process, product, and the value of her work. She described the photo session and told us to pick a theme for the shoot. I usually have about a million ideas going through my head, so I really relied on Amanda to recognize what interested us and succinctly come up with an idea(s) that was doable. We settled on "strawberry" and it was PERFECT, being that our baby's absolute favorite food is strawberry. We did both a Cake Smash session + the Family Add-On with all of us. Our daughter is not shy at all, but she clearly had one thing on her mind and that was food! She didn't seem to laugh a lot, which had us worried about the photos that Amanda was able to get -- maybe it was because she was busy eating nearly 8 giant strawberries, and 1/3 of a cake! Despite this hiccup, we were absolutely blown away by the photos Amanda was able to capture. She was patient during the entire shoot, but also very thoughtful with her method for explaining how things would work + directions for parents during the shoot, etc. This made for a really enjoyable experience. Our baby didn't cry once! She was just happy to take it all in and smash some cake. When we got the photos we were genuinely so moved. Amanda truly does have an eye for the camera, and knows exactly what works and what doesn't. AND we even got a handful of photos where our baby is all smiles -- and even I didn't see that during the shoot. I guess I was too busy making sure it all went 'perfectly' -- just goes to show you that the photographer knows 100% what's going on and which shots to capture We will treasure these photos for a lifetime. I would emphatically recommend Amanda Rachael and her photography services to anyone in the Richmond area. She is fantastic! Thank you so much, Amanda!

Absolutely perfect! Amanda was so kind from the very beginning. Any questions I had prior to our photoshoot she would answer with ease. She had multiple props to choose from to make our pictures unique for our son's smash cake and Bath shoot. When we arrived, her energy was very positive and friendly which made the whole experience enjoyable. When our son didn't want to stay in a particular pose, she did not force him to stay. She adapted to his mood which allowed him to be comfortable during the whole shoot. Because of her wonderful work, every single picture we received was perfect. There literally isn't a single picture we don't like. I Absolutely recommend Amanda for ANY photoshoot you may have in mind. You will not regret it! Thank you again!!!

We had our newborn pictures done and it was an amazing time. She handled our baby with so much care and her experience showed. When he fussed she was able to settle him and posed him quickly but safely. Looking at our pictures they are my favorite not only of our baby but of me and my husband as a couple. Even better than our engagement photos! Can’t wait to come back for our next milestone ?

We did our newborn photo shoot with Amanda last week. She made us and the baby comfortable throughout the process. She has infinite number of props and clothes to shoot and can do ANY birthday theme!! My baby was fussy for some time but she made her calm,sleepy and proceed with the shoot.We thoroughly enjoyed the session and glad we chose her. It’s worth every penny we pay her and we will continue to choose her over and over!!
