Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home & Crematory is one of the oldest and most respected funeral homes in the area, with a reputation for honesty, fairness, and true concern since 1912. Outside of their facility looking dated (honestly, the interior would've looked dated in the 1980s), Holloman-Brown did everything to make the funeral arrangements for my dad as simple and seamless as possible. Dealing with his death is difficult enough, so I thank them for everything they've done to help us grieve with minimal issues and roadblocks. My mom and I dealt almost exclusively with Ron Vance, who is the manager at the Tidewater location. He is extremely kind and helpful and, as it turns out, was a high school classmate to one of my former college roommates (this nugget of info became known when said roomie arrived for the viewing). Regardless, Mr. Vance is the person to speak with if you're in a position to handle funeral arrangements. Nicole worked with us at our lowest moment after we lost our 27 year old daughter. She was compassionate and understanding and did not try to take advantage of us during our time of grief. Thank you to the staff who helped this New Yorker in her time of grief in VA and showed her why her daughter loved VA so much, just wish it was under different circumstances.
All of the staff including the directors were amazingly helpful and understanding during a difficult event regarding our loved one. The staff was both professional and caring and the event was beautifully decorated and meticulously planned. Additionally, Ryan and the other directors enabled me via their technology to present a loving video tribute to my Mother and also play the prayers of my pastors from out of state during the service. I would highly recommend Holomon Brown and their staff.
