“10/10 STARS! This is the longest review ever, but I am so thoroughly impressed that I had to write it.

It is quite uncommon today to find a company with integrity, but I found that and more in Mountain Valley. I cannot express my gratitude to everyone at this company, including the technicians, office personnel, and general manager, for the effort and hard work they put into our installation. When you are spending over $20k you get a little nervous when things don’t go quite right at first but their communication and reassurance throughout the entire process was unmatched.

We purchased an 1800s Victorian home not long ago. The windows and siding are original and there is very little insulation, so it is difficult to heat and cool. The HVAC unit for the 2nd floor was about 50 years old and did not work at all and the duct work was old and gross.

I received estimates from 3 different companies for a completely new HVAC system, including ductwork. Mountain Valley offered the largest variety of manufacturers with lots of new “smart” options. We settled on a Mitsubishi system because of their reputation, great track record with warranty calls and the technology they offered within their units.

Fast forward to installation. The same week that we had the HVAC installation scheduled we were also getting hooked up to county sewer. We literally had 8 work trucks and 2 excavators in the back yard, plus a truck out front and one in the neighbor’s driveway. The Mountain Valley crew was very respectful of the plumbing team’s need for space and worked with our neighbor to ensure he wasn’t put out. 3 days later and installation was done.

And then we had hot weather…and a very hot 2nd floor.

I had to call them back. They came out multiple times and tried everything they could to get things right, but it just was not cooling. So, we finally got a visit from the GM. After spending quite a lot of time talking to us and understanding our needs and complications, he said he thought the unit was undersized and agreed to take it all out and put in a bigger unit and duct work. AT NO CHARGE TO US. Say what?!? I was astounded and relieved and so very grateful. We chose to stick with Mitsubishi and they came out within a week and installed the bigger system and ductwork.

And two days later…it was still a very hot 2nd floor.

They came back out a couple more times and made some adjustments that helped some but, in the end, it still was not right. I called the GM and he agreed to swap it out AGAIN…AT NO CHARGE TO US. I almost fainted. This is unheard of! I am so used to having to fight to make things right – with everyone from Walmart to our home warranty company. I could not believe it.

So back they came for a 3rd installation!!! We thought that maybe the Mitsubishi was too “smart” for our old house with its variable speeds and sensors, so we opted to change to a basic on/off version of a Lennox this time. And voila! Between the duct work changes, the “dumber” unit and a couple of thermal curtains we finally have a cold 2nd floor! So cold, in fact, that we finally took out our window units, which a big step forward in the trust department for someone who likes it 64 at night.
