when you close a location refund the money to the students that you fail don't just leave them hanging.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars | 10/10 Experience
My experience with 160 Driving Academy has been nothing short of amazing. I came into this journey extremely determined, but also very overwhelmed due to some personal things going on in my life. There were moments when it felt like a lot—but Ms. Robin never gave up on me.
She was there for me in every way possible. She never lost contact with me, always checked in, kept me motivated, and reminded me why I started. Even when things got heavy, she stayed consistent, supportive, and encouraging—and she’s still motivating me to this day.
Because of Ms. Robin and the support from 160 Driving Academy, I pushed through when I could’ve quit. If you’re looking for a school that actually cares about you as a person and not just a student, this is it. I’m beyond grateful. 10/10—highly recommend!

I got lucky having a small group, giving us more drive time. All the instructors and manager are great and easy to learn from and spend time with. I genuinely had a good time with the other students and instructors. The zoom class time is awful and boring. I have a feeling it’s more of an issue with corporate 160 but there was only 3 functioning trucks when I graduated (1 manual) and about 20 people to share those trucks. 160 Flint is good to learn how to drive and pass your test, but be a quick learner because classes usually get overbooked and trucks are always breaking.

Very good instructors who care. Was some struggles at the Cincinnati yard but Jon, Nathan and Adam got us through one and done. I also owe thanks to Trey and Terrance who have since left for better opportunities! This school has a lot of room to improve and if they do they could keep great instructors! Students struggle due to the lack of instructors because 160 won’t pay them a decent wage. This school does not have good running equipment, the instructors do their best but they can only do so much in the end it’s up to the School to improve the conditions. Eventually I will do a full video review of the school which will go into much more detail.

graduated on 10/24/2025 although I did pass my state test first try. all 4 weeks of school was unorganized chaos. after week 1 of classroom work where you just watch a zoom meeting for 5 days . we were told that the yard was back logged and we would need to wait 2-3 weeks to continue our schooling , or we could drive the the Indianapolis yard (2 hours away) from my house. and finish our schooling there. I opted to make the drive for 3 weeks to get the school done within the 4 weeks . while in Indy. we received bare minimum instructor help, you got maybe 10 min a day talking to an instructor. most times they would sit in their comfy chairs lost in their phones not helping anyone. if you aren't willing to figure out how to learn everything on your own and by yourself don't sign up for 160 they say they have 95% pass rate. it's closer to 45/50% on first try then it costs you money each time you have to retest. find another school dont use 160

Won’t give a price for the program over the phone. Screams pressure tactics for over priced program.

COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!! DO NOT USE 160 Driving Academy unless you want to waste your time and your money!! They promise CDL training in 4 weeks. What they deliver is anything but that. The first week is 40hrs spent on your computer with ‘classes’ over Zoom. Then you wait for over a week for yard time. I was assigned to the Carson City yard and after the very first day the instructors started emailing students and telling them to NOT show up because the yard classes were overbooked. They would only let you come 1-2 days a week. No weekends. AND NO REFUNDS. I had to drop out after realizing the training could not be completed in the time frame promised. At the rate they were going it would have taken 3 months at least. And on the 2 days I did have yard time they had inexperienced instructors who turned teaching over to one of the students! Lots of safety issues at the yard. Bottom line, they promise a 4 week course, they take your money and then can’t even let you train because they overbook yard time.

I was treated by one instructor named Marty in boundurant iowavery poorly. he threatened to drag me out out of a semi cab during yard skills. then he threatened me by saying that he was going to take my head off.i went to the lead instructor Rick and told him what happened. he replied to me about writing me up for not listening. no concerns about people's safety. very stupid people. we are there to learn not to be treated like animals. don't give them your time or money. if you are smart. DO NOT absolutely DO NOT pay out of pocket for this academy. it’s a waste of time and they could care less about your future. 18 students and 2 instructors, the regional manager the branch manager and the yard director are a joke this company only exist because of the government grants students and Amazon contract. Please don’t spend your money out of pocket do your research go thru a better academic experience this is not the place to go wish I would have did some research before going with the first place I found near me. By the grace of god I got my CDL but with little to no help from any of the people listed above even corporate in Illinois is a big let down disgraceful of a company all around! Save yourselves a head ache of dealing with them.
