We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Austin and the entire team at Veterinary Specialist of Hanover.

When our dog, Howie, was diagnosed with diabetes, Dr. Austin guided us through every step of the process with compassion, patience, and expertise. Managing diabetes can be overwhelming, but she took the time to answer our questions, explain treatment options, and is continuing to help us get Howie regulated. Her dedication to both her patients and their families is truly exceptional.

We have also had the pleasure of working with Karleigh (❤), Paige, Dreeme, and Quiana, who have all been incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout Howie's journey. Their genuine care and willingness to help have made every visit a positive experience, even when Howie is an uncooperative patient 😄 They are also great about giving you quotes up front so there are no surprises when you checkout. This has been a costly experience but the team here is worth it.

And of course, Howie absolutely loves Sarah and Ashley at the front desk! They always greet him with smiles and pets and make him feel welcome from the moment he walks through the door.

Absolutely horrible vet. If you don’t go back for 1,000 dollar check ups they will stop your dogs meds without even giving you notice or time to come up with the money to have to do that last minute. Was literally told when I needed a refill that my dog needed within 2 days of calling that dr Austin is declining the refill unless I come in for another check up…. Which btw they take weeks to get in and LAST MINUTE WITHOUT NOTICE AND JUST STOPPING MY DOGS MEDS…WHO does that who actually cares about animals and their wellbeing? Leaving me frantic and stressing how to get his meds so fast so they aren’t just stopped. This place Just wants money. Will never recommend or be back.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Austin and her internal medicine team. As both a veterinarian and a fur mom, my standards are exceptionally high... and I trust her completely with my own kids.

She consistently makes herself available and is able to get my patients (and my own pets) in quickly, which means so much when you’re dealing with complex internal medicine cases. Her clinical acumen is outstanding, and she approaches each case thoughtfully, thoroughly, and with genuine care.

Her staff is equally incredible. They truly love the animals they care for, and it shows in every interaction. One of my favorite technicians of all time (Karleigh) works there, which gives me even greater confidence knowing my pets are surrounded by skilled, compassionate professionals.

As a clinician, there is no higher compliment I can give than this: when I leave my kids in her care, I feel completely at ease knowing they will receive the same level of excellence and dedication that I would provide myself. I am so grateful to have such a trusted specialist in our community.

Dr. Austin is the best. They really care about their patients and are mindful about working within a budget.

Best place to take your pet. Friendly, compassionate, thorough.

Best care for our Doberman. The staff is very friendly, responsive and has surpassed our expectations every time. Thankful that they work with our pet insurance vendor. But the best part is our doggo loves it there!

Incredible staff and, most importantly, truly amazing people. During one of the hardest moments for our family, we were met with nothing but compassion, patience, and genuine care. Dr. Broaddus was exceptional, kind, confident, and so loving toward Louie. It meant everything to see how deeply he was cared for.
Every member of the team made us feel supported and comforted, and that kind of humanity stays with you long after you leave. If you are looking for outstanding care paired with heartfelt compassion, this is the place. I will always be grateful.

The staff there was amazing. They showed concern about my cats issue. They took great care of my cat. I highly recommend them.
