About Tyson's Eye Doctor
Tyson's Eye Doctor, led by Dr. Son, offers patients a generally positive experience with eye exams and eyewear services. Many patients appreciate Dr. Son's thoroughness and expertise, noting his ability to identify serious conditions, such as macular degeneration, that require further attention. The use of modern technology for exams, which eliminates the need for pupil dilation, has been well-received, enhancing the overall exam experience. However, the front desk staff's attitude has received mixed feedback. While some patients found the front desk experience smooth, others reported a lack of friendliness, particularly from the staff handling payments. Despite this, the efficiency of the practice, with extended hours and easy appointment scheduling, makes it convenient for patients. Overall, Tyson's Eye Doctor is recognized for its effective diagnosis, quality eyewear selection, and high customer service standards, especially with support from staff at the adjacent LensCrafters. Many patients express satisfaction with their visits and the results they receive, making it a reliable choice for eye care in the Tyson's area.
Excellent experience, effective and experienced Doctor Son provides fabulous results with diagnosis and precription eyeglasses. It is wonderful to have such a positive and effective eye doctor!
Front staff seemed like they didn't want to be there especially the girl taking the money who wasn't friendly and didn't greet anyone. The technician was better and did his job at a more professional level. The doctor himself was alright and a straight to the point no nonsense kind of guy with no humor (much like the front desk girl earlier). After I left, I realized that the doctor didn't dilate my eyes. I feel that doctors should ask the patient who may have forgotten about it or at least acknowledged that they don't need it. I feel that he wasn't as thorough because he skipped this part.
I saw Dr Son in October 2022 for a routine eye exam for new prescription glasses. He saw something unusual on the retina of my right eye, and suggested I see an opthamologist, Dr Woo. I thought Dr Son was being overly cautious. He wasn't. I have "Wet AMD", a type of macular degeneration that is very serious, but treatable if caught early. Dr Woo said I should be very thankful that Dr Son caught this, and I am.
