I got in contact with Mark about getting a new kitchen floor installed. He was very quick in responding to me and came out that week to give me an estimate. He was nice enough to tell me a couple ways to save on costs. He had his crew there the next week and they were done within 2 hours. Floor looks fantastic and most importantly my wife is happy with it. Extremely affordable and quality work. I look forward to hiring them again soon for my upstairs.
Good job, looks great...except I'm pretty sure they only used one coat of water-based polyurethane when I asked for oil-based. Most sites I researched recommend 4 to 5 coats of water-based to last as long as oil based. It takes 6 hours for water based to dry between coats and I was there when they started the first coat...they were done 5 hours later. Also, I asked them to pull out 400sf of hardwood so I could put down tile and they left dozens of sharp nails sticking up. At my request, they came back and removed them and I put down my own coat of oil-based. But, beware that a newly coated floor can still scratch up to 30 days until it's fully cured even though,...read full review
Mark was very helpful and responsive and was thorough from the very beginning starting with visiting our home to give us the estimate and then making sure an exact match of the hardwood was installed (we already had part of the living level hardwood). Was able to get the work done within a week from the day we started the conversation. Was there through the installation process to make sure it was being done right. We highly recommend Hambleton floors
