Were attempting to force me to sign documents that I did not agree to. Like a credit card form. I said no thank you about 5 times. I never recieved a response about how much the uninsured cleaning cost was. It was extremely irresponsible for me to not confirm the final cost before allowing treatment of a cleaning and doctor exam. For 2 children or cost $524 dollars. Completely shocked and upset.

I sent my impressions in to sporting smiles in early April and it is now early June and I still do not have a retainer. It seems like maybe this used to be a good option but an online retailer closed causing them to get overloaded. I would not recommend this company right now if you need a retainer quickly. I'm not even sure if mine will fit me at this point when I receive it. This is a pretty costly service and they did not come through after I paid them. I will go through my orthodontist next time.

Such a delightful office! My family absolutely LOVES Sporting Smiles and Dr. Khurana!
I especially wanted to write this review to highlight the dental assistant, Jordan, that we had the pleasure of being with at our appointment. She was absolutely amazing!! She was kind, attentive, and so much fun. You can tell she genuinely cares for the kids and loves what she does! I loved that she took the time to demonstrate what she was going to be doing throughout the appointment. It definitely helped take those dental nerves away.
I highly recommend this office!
Thank you to Dr. Khurana, Ms. Jordan, and the rest of the Sporting Smiles team for always going above and beyond for our little ones!

We've been going to Sporting Smiles for the last 8 years and have loved the care and flexibility the office has shown us. The dental assistants are wonderful with my kids and make them feel so comfortable. Dr. Nirali Mehta is the absolute BEST! She's warm, knowledgeable and gentle with my children's teeth. Love this practice.

Ok, so I’m not usually one to make posts like this, but the upset mama in me needs to share the experience that I just had at Sporting Smiles Pediatric Dentistry Gainesville VA. I took my two sons, ages 3 and 6 for a routine appointment. My 3 year old went first and was getting his cleaning done. Mid-way through the hygienist stops and tells me they have a 1 parent 1 patient policy and that my 6 year old had to leave and wait in the waiting room. I’m not sure why they decided halfway through that he had to leave. He was just sitting there watching. I have a very shy anxious kid, and I was watching the panic set in over him having to sit out there by himself. I explained this and asked if he could at least wait outside of the door and not go to the waiting room himself, and they told me “no, it’s our policy”. Cue the tears from the 6 year old. So I ended up having to leave my 3 year old by himself to finish getting his cleaning so I could handle the upset 6 year old. Fast forward 10 minutes, out comes the 3 year old and now it’s my other son’s turn. I asked if I could please bring my 3 year old back with me so I could come with my other son, and I didnt want to leave a 3 year old in the waiting room by himself. Once again, told no. Cue the post-fluoride vomit from the 3 year old. So im dealing with this, while they shut the 6 year old in the exam room all by himself so that they could take X-rays of another patient- apparently they have to close all doors to do this. So im on the floor trying to help one vomit into a trash can, and then I look up to see the 6 year old open the exam room door because he was by himself and scared. He’s crying. They tell him to go back in and they shut the door behind him. I again asked to go back with him, and they told me sure, but leave the 3 year old out here. My scared, vomiting 3 year old. When I said no, I’m here by myself with both of my kids, both upset, I’m not leaving them alone, they told me he couldn’t come back, especially since he threw up. Again, out comes 6 year old crying. FINALLY, they told me “just this once” could I go back there with both kids. The staff sat there and watched all this go down, saw I had 2 crying little kids and was by myself, and didn’t have enough compassion to make the simple decision to let me stay with both of my kids until the very end of the hour long appointment. When they asked me to sign out and schedule their 6 month follow up, I let them know there would be no following up with them, ever. I’m sharing this not only to blast a PEDIATRIC DENTIST that doesn’t really seem to care about the emotional wellbeing of their young patients/parents, and to warn any parent to never go there if you intend to bring more than 1 child by yourself.

I order my retainers from them all the time, considering the fact that I’m a little careless with them and irresponsible . I’m working on that . They’ve helped me a lot in the ordering process and Shannon and Emily have been great in assisting me as well . All their other colleagues have great attitudes as well , I will continue on ordering from them , hopefully I’m ordering for someone else & not myself lol.

Disappointed with Billing Practices Despite Decent Care
The orthodontic care itself was fine, and the staff was generally courteous, but my experience was significantly soured by their billing practices. From the beginning, I was charged my portion and insurance was billed — which is expected. However, the office continued submitting insurance claims for each visit, all using the *same original date of service*, which raised red flags.
Toward the end of treatment, I switched insurance providers. The office attempted to bill my *old* insurance — even after coverage had ended — and the claim was, of course, denied. I asked them to submit to my *new* insurance for the remaining balance, but they refused, claiming they could only use the original treatment date, which predated my new coverage. This seems inaccurate based on what I've learned about how work-in-progress claims are supposed to work.
Unfortunately, their unwillingness to accommodate or even explore proper WIP claim procedures left me stuck with the cost. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone who might have changing insurance during treatment — be cautious!
