“My son Dylan has been going to Mountain Kim for about a year now. He absolutely loves it. The instructors at the school, Master J and instructor Paul, are absolutely top-notch incredible people. You can tell they are very passionate about teaching taekwondo, and teaching it the right way. If they take one thing away from reading this review, I hope it’s that they should feel very proud of the impact they are having on these kids and the community in general. The dojo my son attended before this one just let the kids get away with way too much and weren’t super strict on the testing, it seemed like everyone just passed the belt testing even with tons of mistakes. It’s not like that here. The instructors really make sure the kids learn what they are supposed to learn and there’s no room for horse play or slacking off. Every belt is earned, not given. The style of teaching is strict, but super respectful, with the perfect amount of fun sprinkled in. My son also begs to go to every extracurricular event they have such as their “ninja nights” once a month (Parents night out) or their camps they have during breaks from school. He always says the same thing when we pick him up “ It was the best time ever.”

If you want your kids to learn true discipline and hard work, among many other great qualities, you should bring them to Mt Kim. I can’t say enough good things about this place and about Master J.“

“I was searching for a martial-arts style class to build confidence in my son, who is one of the shortest in his middle school grade, and a good kid of quiet temperament. We have been going to Wall 2 Wall about 2 months, but I am delighted with both the teaching and the outcome.My son reported that during 6th period last week a taller boy, who he says is a friend, tried to play "keep away" with him. My son said with a giggle that he responded by 'Sumo'ing' him. Now I asked many questions of what 'Sumo'ing' meant in '12 year old', and my understanding is.. he'd used a Judo skill he'd learned in Sensei Chucks class to unbalance the kid, twist him around, and lift him off his feet, braced on his shoulder (the way you would do when you are preparing to throw someone). It was a friendly interaction so he didn't follow through throwing the kid, but he WAS able to reach over while the taller kid was shocked / off his feet, and grab his paper back. He said the best part was science teacher teasing his tall friend that he got outsmarted by "a little boy". And while it was a friendly interaction between friends.. I am delighted to know that my son proved he was not an easy target just because of his height. As a parent I am very happy with his boost of confidence. He was able to handle himself. “On a second week of going there, and Ive gotta tell you this place is a hidden gem. Gym is not overcrowded and Marc dedicates a lot of his attention individually to every student. In MMA classes, I like how he tailors a program individually to every single one of us, and that we can focus on our own thing we want to improve at separately. “My son has been going to I-kik since 6th grade and is about to start 9th grade and still going strong. He has been in the after-school program for the whole time and before-school for the last year. The change I have seen in him has been amazing and significant. I wanted to make sure he didn't get lost in middle school with social media, oeer pressure and be aimless.

When he started, he was reserved and less expressive. Since joining, he stands tall, he is assertive and has developed his social and leadership skills. His skills have exponentially improved as well. He is on his way to getting a black belt and is dedicated to that endeavor.

Master Jeong has been instrumental in that - she is firm in teaching taekwondo and cultural values, but also makes it fun and cares about the kids. Talking with her, she knows every child and their different personalities. She pushed my son to do better, because she knows how well he can do. He strives to do better and is encouraged to do so because of the community of kids and adults around him trying to do the same.

After watching from the sidelines taking pictures and videos, I have now joined. We both get to learn and improve together. I have also joined demo team with him as well. There are no plans to slow down or stop anytime soon. This place, Master Jeong, her staff and her community has become a part of our family and routine.

We love it here and highly recommend it to other families. It's great exercise, helps to build discipline and focus, while also teaching respect of family, self and others.“
