My internist recommended acupuncture for chronic pain. To find a qualified acupuncturist, I researched necessary credentials, considered reviews, and searched providers near my home. Dr. Kerry Westhauser has outstanding credentials and accepts health insurance. As for doctor-patient relationship, Dr. Westhauser is careful listener, offers insightful approaches to impact patient’s pain issues, and is adroit in administering needles. As her patient, I have experienced both immediate relief from a pain area and also gradual relief in other areas. To me, acupuncture is part of journey to improved quality of life. I would like to first say that no acupuncturist is able to heal everything in one or two visits. It takes commitment and discipline of coming in on a routine basis over months to see results from any provider.That being said, Dr. Kerri Westhauser is simply incredible. She has excellent patient care and a really warm bedside manner. She has many years of experience and truly listens to the patient to understand and inform treatment.I feel very lucky personally to have found her. I have now seen her over several months. I really recommend this provider to anyone who is seeking acupuncture treatment from an experienced and knowledgeable provider.

I am so incredibly grateful to have Dr. Westhauser as my Acupuncturist. I have been going to her for over 10 years and she has been a lifesaver for me. From my issues with fertility to managing my physical and spiritual health, she has truly been a partner in my journey. She is amazing at melding Eastern and Western medicine and treating the whole person. Her way of digging deep to find the cause vs treating the symptom is impressive. Dr. Westhauser really listens to me and works WITH me in order to be in the best version of myself that I can. Her knowledge and professionalism is unmatched and I highly recommend anyone to go see her.

Dr. Westhauser has been in private practice since 2004 and has treated over 30,000 patients. Since 2013 she has worked at the Maryland University of Integrative Health as a clinical supervisor in the Chinese Herbal Program and is the former Director of the Chinese Herbal Program.(2018-2022)In addition she is an adjunct faculty member at the Virginia University of Integrative Health. Ms. Westhauser studied at the Maryland Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, China and the Maryland University of Integrative Health. She has completed Mazin Al-Khafaji’s two year Dermatology Program and received her doctorate from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
