My kids and I love this studio so much. We’ve been going a year now, even though we never intended to pursue ballroom. We just did it to help with my kiddo’s ice skating. But after a few lessons, we learned that there really is no place like this one. Nikita and vlad are great instructors who understand how to teach adults and kids (two very different skills) and keep it fun and engaging. I recently started group class too and it’s just so fun and fast. I’ve had many dance instructors in the past: ballet, jazz, hip hop, salsa, and swing, and the teachers here really are world class. I stumbled on DC dance sport while looking for someone to help my 9 year old with arm styling for a tango ice skating routine. we signed up for a trial private lesson and it went well, so we did a few packages of private lessons, and then started with group lessons for my 6 year old too. they both loved the teachers, who are just amazing. I was fearful that sometimes good dancers don't always make good teachers, especially for kids, who have unique needs. but Nikita and Vlad have both been amazing, and it's really always a pleasure dealing with Travis who runs the business/front desk side of things, and the director lydia is also so kind and helpful. now I've started taking group class too and it's a blast. not only are the teachers good at dancing and teaching, they make the entire process enjoyable. no matter what kind of mood we enter this place with, we always leave happy and energized.

I am very pleased with the Dance Sport Academy services. My 3 y.o. daughter is taking baby ballet classes with Ms. Vera, who is exceptional in professionalism and communicating with small kids. Her lessons are diversified in the types of activities and movements and geared towards accommodating the needs of the little ones, introducing them to the world of dance and music. Great experience! If you have an active toddler, I strongly recommend classes with the DC DanceSport Academy, and especially with Ms. Vera!
