Dr. Pennisi always walks into the appointment prepared. She has reviewed every test and appointment with other doctors before she walks into the exam room. She looks at the lab results and makes sure I am up to date on all my preventative care. She listens to my questions, taking the time to answer. She keeps up with the latest studies and makes recommendations based on them. She can sometimes be hard to understand, but she will repeat herself when asked. She is a great partner in your cancer journey.

I have been going to Dr. Pennisi for over 4 years. She is a wonderful oncologist—-always caring, attentive and responsive! I’ve had so many doctors throughout my life and the support staff are almost as important as the doctor. The whole team is very thorough and on top of things. But Inova Schar is a particularly exceptional facility. Most of the specialists there I would highly recommend.

While I’ve had a great prognosis, I’ve also had excellent care with Dr. Pennisi making sure I did not have the breast cancer come back. Even though cancer is a horrible thing, I’ve had a very positive experience with my treatment these last 4+ years.
