My 7 year old and myself got medium knotless. They were very hospitable and professional. My daughter acted out because she does not like the process they were extremely accommodating. They gave her an iPad and me water. They let her have several breaks and not once made me feel bad for her actions. Our hair came out lovely. There prices are comparable to other shops but with great service I will be coming back. 10/10 would highly recommend.

everyone here is nice & hospitable, but when it comes to the service itself there's a few things they should work on. ive come here for about two years now, & gotten the same style. each time it has costed me a different amount than the last one. the braiders are quite often rough with my hair when it comes to gripping, drying, and braiding. when i got my french curls last year, my braids were VERY painful - my scalp was itching for days. i gave them another chance a couple days ago, & it's the same problem. i had gotten another style, & again, it was braided too tight, so my head was itching. and the take-down for that style was very aggravating because it seemed as if knots were being tied with my hair! i write this to strongly advise for them to add prices on their website so people know what to expect before scheduling. & please be gentle, it's a protective style for a reason :/

Listen people, you can take this advise or leave it. This place Johanna and the other lady that had a heart transplant that always wears white are practitioners and priestesses of black magic. My hair was ripped out to the point of being thin, after they were done 30 minutes later I get a random cough. (I DONT GET RANDOM COUGHS), I went home took it and washed it out. A large white bug flew out my hair and killed it. NEVE NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER have I had ANY bug or bugs in my hair!!!! I started to pray for for deliverance of black magic spells placed over my crown, and immediately was filled with the spirit as my body began to tingle. I REBUK this place and the people in the name of Jesus! That night I began to CHOKE UP AND COUGH UP BLACK CHUNKS OF MUCUS!!! People don’t really understand how serious the spirit world is. BUT my life belongs to the one and only true creator, lord and king of kings Jesus Christ, the son of god, who also is in me! Amen, amen, amen! I don’t want to hear it!!! Them 2 women stripped my hair from a think full head of hair to thin like half thickness gone!!!! I don’t know how they did it, but I KNOW they are trying to make a wig!!! I walk with the Holy Spirit!!! Amen!!! I do not get sick randomly nor have I ever felt like a frog was in my throat choking until I left that shop. Black chucks of mucus! Never in my life, but YES I am aware of signs and symptoms. I forgive you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

I had a great experience at Lydia‘s hair braiding! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted withwarmth and professional professionalism. The young lady who braided my hair was truly an expert she took time to listen to what I wanted and made sure to execute the style perfectly, the entire process was efficient and I was amazed by how beautiful and neat my braids turned out. The salon atmosphere is inviting and comfortable and the customer service is exceptional. I could tell that they cared about their clients and I left feeling completely satisfied. I definitely will be returning. I highly recommend Lydia‘s hair braiding for anyone looking for high-quality service and great experience. Also wanted to add. I enjoyed the gospel music as well.

I firmly advocate that this establishment deserves a rating of one, or possibly even lower. My appointment experience was overwhelmingly negative. The lady I initially spoke with directed me to a chair, but then two other women unexpectedly started braiding my hair. Astonishingly, one of them carelessly dropped the comb multiple times but carried on using it. Even more concerning, the blow dryer that had just been utilized on someone else was left uncleaned. When I confronted them about this, their response was simply to claim they had cleaned both the comb and dryer. To exacerbate matters, the braids were braided so tightly that I had to remove two rows from the back. Regrettably, I foolishly retained the remaining box braids, only to experience intense itching on my scalp. I strongly suspect they may have used old hair, as my scalp has been constantly irritated and feels as though pins are prickling me. Considering these distressing experiences, I strongly implore others to completely avoid this establishment.

I’ve gone here for years and typically have no issues with their service or quality of work. The experience I had today has solidified that I will never come back.I wanted to get knotless braids with human hair, since I typically itch with the synthetic hair. I had inquired to see if they could use human hair and was told I would have to buy the hair separately.When I came to get my hair done, I was told that they could not do the knotless braids with the human hair. I explained that the reason I had asked was due to my reaction to the synthetic hair.I was told they could do micro braids or box braids, and I opted for the box braids. The ladies that were braiding my hair kept saying that the hair was not good quality. I asked if it was going to last and look decent, and I was told yes.To make matters worse, they repeatedly kept talking about the situation with the hair I bought. At one point, one of the ladies said, “Young people are always so difficult”.After they were done, I looked at my hair in the mirror and was not happy at all. They had only partially braided my hair and left the rest curly. I asked if they could braid the rest of the strands and was told it would cost more and that I had “taken them through a lot”. I told them I was not happy with the style and wanted to take it out. They tried to convince me that it looked nice and to keep it.They ended up taking it out for free, but still had me pay $250 for the work they did.I asked if they could do the traditional box braids, with the synthetic hair, and was told they’d do it at a discounted rate but never gave me an exact price.I ended up having to go to another braiding shop to get my braids done.

It took them over 3hrs to take down so cool, good for them. What wasn’t cool was getting home after a long day of errands and washing my hair to find they cut off about 3 and a half inches of my hair.The picture below was my hair about a month ago. Now it’s barely past my shoulder blades and super uneven in its natural state in the back. It looks like I have a F’ing bob when it’s curly. Personally I wouldn’t let them even breathe in my direction if I were a prospective client reading reviews before booking. And it had to be malicious because i specifically told them my hair is long make sure you don’t accidentally cut it. Multiple times mind you, to which one lady responded with an attitude trying to hush me up saying “ok ok ok, I get it. I can see where your hair is” I brushed the attitude off at the time, I understand service oriented jobs are tough. Also bear in mind that the whole time I was polite and respectful, I didn’t do anything to warrant the attitude or the hair cut I didn’t ask for. Hopefully I can get a discount when I call tomorrow to explain what happened.

LONG STORY SHORT DONT LET THEM TAKE OUT YOUR BRAIDS, THEY’RE TOO SCISSOR HAPPY
I got waist length knotless boho braids taken out 9.2.23 Take down was $100, no problem. It took them over 3hrs to take down so cool, good for them. What wasn’t cool was getting home after a long day of errands and washing my hair to find they cut off about 3 and a half inches of my hair.The picture below was my hair about a month ago. Now it’s barely past my shoulder blades and super uneven in its natural state in the back. It looks like I have a F’ing bob when it’s curly. Personally I wouldn’t let them even breathe in my direction if I were a prospective client reading reviews before booking. And it had to be malicious because i specifically told them my hair is long make sure you don’t accidentally cut it. Multiple times mind you, to which one lady responded with an attitude trying to hush me up saying “ok ok ok, I get it. I can see where your hair is” I brushed the attitude off at the time, I understand service oriented jobs are tough. Also bear in mind that the whole time I was polite and respectful, I didn’t do anything to warrant the attitude or the hair cut I didn’t ask for. Hopefully I can get a discount when I call tomorrow to explain what happened.
