So I used to come here once or twice a month when I was still active duty, but I really wanted to pop into the Poplar Hill Barber Shop to say hello & Check on the old timers! Doug was my go to barber, but I switched down to a different chair when he was out for a bit. Can't remember the other fellas name, but he had a steadier hand & got me out of there a good deal quicker. Unfortunately they were closed when I tried to come in the other day, so I let me neighbor "help" cut my hair & it ended with my running the trimmer over it with a very short attachment haha he also cut me bad enough that I probably could've gotten stitches if the Krazy Glue wasn't readily available!! This pic of my current hair was not their doing!

Old school in all the best ways, exactly how you picture a barbershop should be. Quality service and good prices make this a great value but that's only scratching the surface. If you want flat screens and hot girls to flirt with, go somewhere else.

I've had a few good experiences here, and one bad. There's definitely an old-school feel here. The barber in the first chair nearest the door is awesome, a great haircut, good stories, and a hot shave with a straight razor around the edges. I highly recommend this man. I would strongly recommend you avoid the female barber. I asked for the same haircut from her that I get from the man I usually see (a taper from a 1 at the bottom, with a little bit off the top to clean things up. For me, that's usually a 6.). She gave me a high and tight cut with no taper. Since you face away from the mirror, there's no way to monitor how things are going. I walked away pretty unhappy, and ended up having to fix it myself at home. A haircut is $15, cash only.
