Landscaping is expensive; that's just the nature of the service. For that reason you want to make sure that you get what you pay for and make the right choice. Brooks wasn't the first place I called but the first business I called told me they were at least two months away from even setting up an appointment let alone getting a project underway and completed. But they suggested that I call Brooks because they knew them to be reputable. So I did. From the first call and after speaking with Gail I knew I was on the right track. It was late spring and my goal was to complete the project by mid-summer. Once I explained what we were looking for (a complete "do over" front and back, a patio, and a water feature) Gail came by the property for a visit. She went right to work on the suggested concept. In a few weeks we visited her at the nursery and talked about shrub/tree preferences and heard her recommendations. We arrived at a final cost, I made the down payment and we pulled the trigger on the project. The work crew (generally 4 guys) showed up on time each and every morning for more than two weeks. It happened to be the hottest few days on record in the Hampton Roads area but they pushed through every day. They knew what they were doing. At the end they had put in 3 tons of rock/stone for the pond, 135 shrubs, 10 trees and mulched beds around the entire backyard perimeter and across the front of the house. We now had a new paver patio with a wall on one side and a 500 gallon pond with a waterfall. And two months in during the height of summer and we have not lost one plant. Not one. (Of course we did our part by regularly watering until established.) That tells me something about the quality of the products and the skill of the landscapers. I've had plenty of issues with contractors since moving to the area 10 months ago. I've had more than my share of horror stories. This isn't one of them. It's not possible to thank these folks enough.

Gail and her team are exceptional. She assisted with a redesign of existing landscape that was thoughtful and beautiful. This all took place during tragedy and transition within the Brooks family and Gail was patient, communicative, and intentional. We received a quote from another popular company that did not take into account any of the desires that were stated. Gail transformed the requests we made into reality and was able to apply her expertise to help facilitate a beautiful outcome! Truly the best!
