The Pender Pet Retreat team went above and beyond to take care of our senior pets these past 2 weeks. Our 13 year old pup has Cushing's and was recently diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy; she was having a bad day (couldn't/wouldn't stand up and walk on her own) and they immediately reached out to let us know, made sure she was comfortable, and closely monitored her condition. Our 18 year old cat had a medical emergency and they rushed him to our vet (Pender in Fairfax) for an exam + hospitalization. We sent our sensitive dog to Pender for a weekend trial stay and could not be happier that she did great. Normally she has separation anxiety and goes on a hunger strike or retreats for her kennel for comfort when her favorite family member travels, but she ate well and enjoyed her walks with the Pender staff. We've trusted the Pender vets for years, and it was so great to realize they offer safe and caring boarding, too.
