Thapasya - School of Dance has been promoting Bharatanatyam in the DMV (DC / Maryland / Virginia) for the last 10 years. The dancers are trained in the Pandanallur tradition of Bharatanatyam and are well known for their ability to connect with diverse viewers with their signature group choreography, colorful costumes, and eclectic music. At Thapasya, the guru is fully committed and dedicated to this ancient art form. The director, Ms. Sudha, loves her dance, loves her students, and is passionate about teaching the art form with utmost respect and discipline. Thapasya has appeared on the International Stage, and their performances have been praised for the prayerful music and precision of the dancers. Since coming to Thapasya, I have improved so much from when I took classes online. Ms. Sudha always corrects me when I am doing something wrong and helped me fix it. Because of her, my dancing has improved significantly. It has been a really great experience and I really enjoy learning from Ms. Sudha and from all of the performance opportunities she gives us. I really appreciate that she takes the time to give us specific feedback on what we are doing wrong even when she has so many other students. I have learned so much from Ms. Sudha in the years I have been here and am continuing to do so.

I have been learning dance at Thapasya for more than 7 years. Throughout these 7 years I have learned so much from Ms.Sudha and develop every year. Ms.Sudha is always willing to help us and corrects us to improve. She makes her clsss a fun and enjoyable environment each and every student. I have improved my dance skills so much because of Ms.Sudha. At Thapasya School of Dance I have learned so much and continue to do so.
