About BirthCare & Women's Health
BirthCare & Women's Health is a service of certified nurse-midwives located in Old Town Alexandria, VA. They provide personalized care for healthy women, offering a choice between home birth and birth in their nationally accredited Birth Center. The midwives attend home births in Maryland, DC, and Virginia within a 40-mile radius of Washington, DC. Clients praise the midwives for being a wealth of knowledge and empowering them as new mothers. Everyone is so friendly and professional, and the care feels so personalized. The midwives are very attentive, good communicators, and diligent about informed consent. Many have had positive and amazing birth experiences, feeling safe and cared for. They provide the best care in the DMV, and clients are so glad they made the decision to go with them.
I had a wonderful birth experience with Birthcare. They enabled me to have a home birth during COVID, even though I switched to their care at 35 weeks. Annie was amazing and so kind and caring in follow up care. you couldn't ask for better care.

I had fantastic prenatal, labor & delivery, and postnatal care through the midwives at BirthCare! The telehealth appts available were extremely helpful so I didn’t have to make the 45 min drive for every appt and my husband didn’t need to take off work. The office staff was always very kind, friendly, and helpful. The phlebotomist is excellent as well (take this from someone who hates needles). The midwives always took the time to answer my questions. Annie delivered my baby at my home and she made me feel safe and equipped to make it through my precipitous labor. Even with intense back labor and a postpartum hemorrhage, I made it through thanks to my wonderful midwives, Annie & Tana, and birth assistant, Julia Chemotti. Annie had everything needed to handle the hemorrhage and get the bleeding under control. I highly recommend BirthCare if you are hoping for a low intervention home or birth center birthing experience. I will definitely be using them for any future pregnancies and my regular women’s health appts.
